Joseph Quash

I am a first-class graduate in BA English Literature with Creative Writing from the University of Leeds, specialising in newspaper and magazine publishing. Having worked on publications including Literary Review, Tenterhook and The Gryphon, I am proficient in many aspects of literary production, from editing and proofreading, to typesetting and design, through to marketing and publicity.

In addition, I've authored articles on politics, technology and culture with a particular focus on issues affecting students and young people, published in The Gryphon and on this website.

My creative writing has been published in Tenterhook, Lunch and Trinity College, Cambridge's Litmus. I am also the writer of well – assembled, a dissertation-equivalent prose poetry collection creatively investigating the contemporary pastoral, fragmented psychological selfhood amongst young adults in modern-day England, and how rural and urban environments mould identity. Currently, I am working on, and seeking representation for, my second poetry collection, entitled Manna, for release in 2027.

Alongside my writing practice, I am the co-creative director of Sidings, formerly known as People Carrier, a self-started music and multimedia event series in Leeds with three successful instalments behind it. Through this, as well as music festival coordination and talent liaison roles, I am accomplished in client management, event logistics and creative publicity and marketing.
